Charles Bennet, Fourth Earl of Tankerville (1743-1822), cricket patron and landowner. Tankerville laid huge wagers on matches, gave employment to cricketers at Mount Felix, his country estate near Walton-on-Thames. He raised elevens, for England and Surrey for specific occasions. He married on 7th October 1771 to Emma Colebrooke (1752-1836), daughter of Sir James Colebrooke. He spent his later life amassing a huge collection of seashells before his death at Walton-on-Thames on 10th December 1822.
