Norman Percy Allen
Norman Percy Allen, (1903-1972), metallurgist. In 1944, Allen joined the National Physical Laboratory as Superintendent of the Metallurgy division, where his work contributed significantly to improved steel making procedures in the late 1950s, and to an understanding of its complex mechanical properties. In 1966, he was appointed deputy director. He died in February 1972, at his home, 10 Firlands, Ellesmere Road, Weybridge.
