Richard Ford William Lambart, seventh Earl of Cavan (1763-1837), Army Officer. Cavan occupied Holstein House in Weybridge from 1796, when he was back in England recuperating from being wounded at Valenciennes on 3rd January 1793. Following Napoleon's bizarre invasion of Egypt in 1798, Cavan was sent there in 1801 where he helped in the capture of Alexandria. He was later given command of the army in Egypt, and was one of six officers, including Nelson, who received the diamond aigrette.
