Robert Boyle-Walsingham (1736 - 1779) naval commodore son of the first earl of Shannon. Father of Charlotte Boyle Walsingham, he died when his ship 'Thunderer', with a crew of 600 men, sailed into a hurricane off Jamaica in October 1780, and went down with all hands.
