Rupert Edward Cecil Lee Guinness, second Earl of Iveagh (1874-1967), brewer. His family bought Burwood for him but he never lived there, and it was leased to the Duchess of Wellington. Lord Iveagh also owned and leased out Heyswood Park in Cobham. After the Duchess of Wellington died, he created a golf club and sold land to Whiteley to create his village.
