Thomas Moore (1779-1852) Irish poet. Moore frequently visited Boyle Farm in Thames Ditton as the guest of Lord Henry Fitzgerald and his wife. One of his visits became the subject of his long poem, 'The Summer Fete'. He also wrote the biography of Lord Edward Fitzgerald in 1831 that established his reputation as a romantic Irish nationalist hero.
