William King-Noel, first Earl of Lovelace [known as the Hon. William King until 1833 and as the Lord King from 1833 to 1838] (1805-1893) scientist, and Fellow of the Royal Society. He married Augusta Ada Byron the legitimate daughter of the poet. They lived at Sandown House, Esher from c1841 until Ada's death in 1852. After he was created Viscount Ockham he lived mainly at Ockham. His brother Peter John Locke King lived at Brooklands.
